This page is for the PDFs of the assorted books, or –alias, that comprise the whole of Wyrlde: Adventures in the Seven Cities. The links will only be to finished books unless stated otherwise.

Although I am sharing these, I do retain Copyright on all of them. Everything is updated periodically.

The purpose of this website and all this material is for my Players group to have access to all this stuff online, and so y’all just sorta get the benefit of that, lol.

Books

These are the primary books. As of February 2024, I restored the House Rules to their own book.

What They Are

IT always helps to know what the hell all of these things are about, so…

Codexalia

This book has the Lore, describing the setting, natural world, and some limited rules specific to those aspects. It is intended mostly for DMs but is totally available and allowable for Players. only minor changes and adjustments are going on at this time (typos, consistency).

Incarnalia

This book has all the stuff to create the Player Characters in it. As of January 6th, it is still being written and edited. Portions still needing significant work are Professions, Spells, and Aspects. This book is intended for Players but is also optional — one can use Wyrlde with standard 5e rules.

Ancillaria

This book will be assembled from the portions of new things that were cut for deadlines or considered non-essential for start of campaign. Everything in it will have been published here as a post first, and then later assembled. Among the parts that will eventually be gotten around to are Psionics, Runes, and information about the other continents, moons, and other planets, as well as additional Dimensions as they are discovered (such as Bedlam). See the To-Do List for more details.

Lexicalia

The Lexicalia is an online-only collection of Languages, with an ultimate goal of having an English to Trade (Common) dictionary and grammar, as well as some older languages and other odds and ends of possible use. Someday I might even have a couple fonts, lol.

Mythalia

The Mythalia is the repository for Myths, Legends, Fables, and related elements of the lore from an in-world perspective.

Synopsalia

This is the House Rules book, collecting the house rules and all the changes other than magic to the game as a whole. For a long time, it was incorporated into the Codexalia, but after some thinking about iit, I decided to yank t out and make it stand alone again, as was the original plan. This will make using the setting easier for folks who don’t want a lot of weird ass rules, just setting specific stuff. It also means I can expand the Codex as needed going forward.

Occultalia

This is the book about the magic system of Wyrlde, which uses the same sells, for the most part, but organizes them differently and introduces new structures, and is based on a spell point system. It was formerly called the Occultaria, but, well, shit happens.

Critteralia

This is the Bestiary for Wyrlde and will be developed as we go through our campaign. There are 225 monsters outlined at present, not counting peoples. Each entry will be published here independently, likely as an image of the stat block.

Systems

Zero Sessions

This is just a list of subjects and topics covered during Zero Sessions in my group. Wyrlde can get pretty intense at times. Since everyone seems to have some kind of list themselves, we put one together.

Character Development

These are the “trimmed” rules for Character creation on Wyrlde, focusing on the parts of use to people who might want to use the for their own games. These are not mechanical things, include ways to come up with a code of values, answer questions about the character, and generally get a good idea of what they look like (complete with color codes for artists). The PDF is much more useful than the post because it retains the coloring of the tables.

Enhanced DC

Difficulty Checks in Wyrlde run from 1 to 30. They can also be affected by quality of workmanship, variables of complexity, and other things, so there is a way to take a “base DC” and adjust it up or down according to how off from the baseline something is.

Enhanced Challenge Ratings

I work with a group of 6 other DMs, and we have been tinkering with the Challenge Rating system for a decade. The version currently available is one that goes up to 60, but the final version specific to Wyrlde will run from -5 to 35, with a focus on 1 to 30 CRs, so that there is a much closer linkage between Character Level and CR. The Status will show Updated or Current when the new version is uploaded.

Enhanced Combat

These sections will focus on things that have been added to solve issues or problems, needs and wants within the combat system for 5e.

Enhanced Vehicles

These are rules for using vehicles of any sort — air, sea, and land — in combat, at speed, and including crashes and chases. It has never failed to amuse me how often my Players will grab a passing wagon and shout “follow that carriage!” Also, flying brooms are like a whole thing on Wyrlde, so i needed ways to handle them.

Enhanced Influence

Bards hate this one thing. Click to find out. This is a change to the rules for Influencing rolls, that expand the number of possible Attitudes, and then factor in the Mood of the subject to determine the DC for a given check (which can then be adjusted using the enhanced DC rules).

Enhanced Nature

These are the Wilderness and Wilds rules, that reflect the effects of climate, weather, and natural hazards on Wyrlde.

Random Hoards

I needed a way to balance the size of treasure piles found with the economics and broader system, so I created a nice little table for figuring that out.

Enhanced Bastions

Bastions for Wyrlde are seriously tweaked, expanded, and linked to the creation and use of Workshops for crafting, as Wyrlde has additional and changed rules around crafting.
